When a substance dissloves in water it makes a solution solification
Solutions can be sorted by whether thay are Acidic ,Basic and Neutral
When the oxide of some non-metals dissolve in water they make an acid
Acids have a sour taste
They are corrosive (breaking down thing)
They are many kinds of acid present in our life everyday
Some strong acids : Hydrochloric acid, Sulphuric and nutric acid
Some weak acids
Neutralisation
-Acids and Alkalis combine with each other. The alkali cancels out the acid in the reaction. This is called neutralisation
Alkalis
Many everyday substances are slkalis
They feel soapy
They are corrosive
When the oxides of some metals dissolve in water they make an alkali solution
Alkalis react with acids and neutralise them
Calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide are strong alkalis
Ammonia is the most common and weak alkalia

Litmus is red in an acid
Litmus is blue in an alkalis
