Learner Profile Creations

My Group IB learner creation

Me and my group had been working on IB learner profiles and how to make them all show in one place ,as you can see the above picture. We have the globe being hold by 2 hands in the middle of the poster ,it represents the word International from IB .And all the details in the background are some explanation in  each IB leaner profiles with some pictures. I think me and my group can make it better if we had more time especially I think we have to make some pictures more organized.

Pleng's group

In my oppinion some words that are written on green paper made those words not clear ,but over all the work looks nice I can see their effort by using bottles and something else to make the trunk.

Mind's group

They showed their IB learner by using head(i think ) poster to be to background and having some colourful mentos represent the creativity in brain which is quite creative .

Jinny's group

This group's poster looks easy and simple its actually not really because of those bottles caps under each IB profiles learner . And I think they shouldn't put some words upside down because it will be quite difficult to themselves and audiences to read.

My definitions of sustainability

  1. Sustainability definition 1

Sustainability is the ability to maintain a certain status or process in existing systems. The most frequent use of the term “sustainability” is connected to biological or human systems in the context of ecology. The ability of an ecosystem to function and maintain productivity for a prolonged period is also sustainability.

  2. Sustainability definition 2

Sustainability is the ability to continue a defined behavior indefinitely. To define what environmental sustainability is we turn to the experts.

  3. Sustainability  definition 3

Sustainability is the careful and efficient stewardship of resources by businesses, communities and citizens . It is the practice of meeting our needs in ways that are respectful of the future generations and restoreative of natural , cultural and financial assets.

Intro & Environmental Perspectives

Course Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate is a program that helps students all around the world to be more active about what they're doing learning and try to tell student to get the most benefits out of things they have learned.

The IB leaner profile

Inquirers

"Ideas come from curiosity" Walt Disney .They teach the students to stay curious and make them enjoy to learn.

Knowledgeable

Learn things world widely because maybe sometimes we think we know enough but actually there's always something new for us to learn.

Thinker

Students nowadays they just listen and remember follow exactly what they were taught but if we look at all the people who succeeded in life they just think different and trying to make the best out of it

Communicators

Communicate is one the most important thing you will need to do to be successful because who knows what kind of smart ideas will you get from other people that is different from you

Principled

No matter how smart or good you are if you cheat there's nothing to be proud of , and to work with other people you have to be faithful to them.

Open-minded

We have to accept what we have and respect other people's ideas too .

Caring

We act the way we want people to act to us because sharing is not enough we must care each other feelings too .

Risk-takers

To learn something new you must be brave enough to take a different new step.

Balanced

Looking at ourselves is also important because if our moods or body aren't ready then we may not reach the highest points of successful

Reflective

We must understand ourselves first before trying to understand something newer and more complicated , knows our own limits .

Modern Environmental Movement

  • Started around 1960s ,and evidences show that humans concern about environment long before but not so widely
  • They care more about environment when their farm and some industrial started to grow more

1900-1960 Environmental awareness grows

  • They started to see the numbers of some wild animals  decreasing and its starting to get in danger.
  • Found strange disease that killed over 900 people in Japan

The movement goes global 1970s

They start to see the importance to protect  some  animals that have potential to be extinct such as tigers, pandas ,whales ,rhino, elephants and fur seals .

Sustainability, the way forward 1980s

Chernobyl disaster in Ukraipne caused around 4000 deaths from thyroid cancer because of leaking radioactive and its still reamains unsafe until now.

Global Warming and Global Economics 1990s

Global warming becomes more aware by everybody in the world.

A classification of different environmental philosophies

Ecocentric worldview - respects the rights of nature and the dependence of humans on nature

Anthropocentric or technocentric worldview - human centered which humans are not dependent on nature but nature is there to benefit humankind..

Reflection 1: Learner Profiles

My Strongest

Education in Thailand or any other places in the world they teach people to remember things but not to understand them. And that is our decision to choose to follow exactly what they tell or to listen to them and apply to make use of it most in life , and i think im quite good with that.

My Weekest

I'm a person who don't really have confidence in my self especially when i have to face with something I've never experience.
